Etienne D'If Poetry

"And then the lighting of the lamps..."

Watching lanes stretch
Deep into Paris
A snowflake following
Stairs caught by Escher.

When you arrived
I undressed, placed
Your hand on my ‘cage
And said, “you can hurt me
Now if you want”. Thinking
That’s what love meant.
